A Message from Alain: Our New CLS Organization
We’ve worked together relentlessly to establish Ingram Micro as the leading global provider of high value services for four primary industries: technology, lifecycle, commerce and cloud. During this time, we’ve significantly expanded our capabilities through the acquisition of more than 20 services-related companies and also invested tens of millions of dollars to organically build new offerings and solutions. We’ve always been clearly recognized as the best company in the world to rapidly move technology across the globe, but as recently noted in the Orange County Register and as recognized by Gartner, we are now well-established as a leading software innovator, visionary services provider and critical strategic partner; one that enables companies – from start-ups to the world’s most recognized brands – to truly realize the promise of technology.
Building a recognized global leader – and more importantly, remaining a global leader – requires constant flexibility and a nimble mindset; the ability to follow and leverage opportunities presented by the logical evolution of the business. Our teams have adopted the right mindset and are continually evaluating our operations to ensure we are making the most of our role as an indispensable business partner.
As part of our deliberate evolution into a services provider, we are combining our Lifecycle Services and Commerce & Fulfillment Solutions businesses into one to form Commerce and Lifecycle Solutions (CLS). As a single business, CLS will be able to even better leverage our established infrastructure, including our global services centers, while providing our customers a seamless and comprehensive portfolio of lifecycle and fulfillment solutions. As one, CLS will further enjoy the sharing of best practices, systems optimization and new cross-sell and upsell opportunities from our combined customer and partner ecosystem. Together, our services businesses will immediately benefit from economies of scale and the increased breadth of our offerings, resulting in improvements in both revenue growth and profitability. For these reasons and many others, the combination of these two services businesses is another highly positive step forward for our future.
As a result, Ken Beyer will be leading our new CLS business and Shailendra Gupta will now be working side-by-side with me on global strategic initiatives, including ensuring we maintain our industry lead and continue to take the Company into new and exciting areas. We are very fortunate to have world-class leaders who do not hesitate to take on new and expanded roles to which they bring their rich and varied experience.
As a part of Ingram Micro, we all have the unique opportunity to play an important role in the global consumption of technology and enabling commerce throughout the world. We have much to be proud of, but what excites me the most is the incredible opportunity ahead of us!
