As announced by Alain on June 22, CFS and LCS will be combining to form our new Commerce & Lifecycle Solutions (CLS) business unit. You can read more about this exciting combination and the synergies we expect to achieve in our feature story, but before we turn our focus to the new CLS business, let us share some exciting accomplishments from the Commerce and Fulfillment Solutions side of the business in Q2.
Gartner has Spoken: CFS is a… VISIONARY
In May, our CFS business was named a Visionary in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for North American Third-Party Logistics (3PLs). Ranking among 18 3PL providers to qualify for the 2017 report – and only three others to qualify as a Visionary – we were selected based on a number of key focus areas, including our ability to service customers, breadth and depth of service, demonstrated innovation and specialized industry capabilities. More importantly, customer interviews played a critical role in the evaluation process, adding a true layer of validation to our achievement.
In the report, Gartner cited our technology and our strategic foresight and focus on the future as determining factors of our rank. More specifically, we were recognized for our ability to connect supply and demand among retailers, manufacturers, suppliers and consumers, and for enabling and advancing multi-channel commerce transactions through innovative technology. Our account management and transparency were also mentioned in the report; both great indicators of our commitment to focus on our customers and their experiences.

A Better Customer Experience
A recent hot topic has been our new and rapidly growing global transportation offering, including the roll out of our First Mile/Final Mile solutions. As we continue to find innovative ways to deliver added value to our CFS customers, we are excited to add Convey, an end-to-end global transportation management system, to our commerce platform. This offering will include exception management capabilities and Final Mile enhancements like white glove delivery, providing our customers with greater transparency, management and control over the end-to-end delivery experience.
ASOS Facility in Berlin Supports Storage for 10 Million Items
We have a new Eurohub in Berlin to support major ecommerce apparel retailer, ASOS, and we moved over 2.2 million items without a disruption to the customer’s business! With the new facility, ASOS has four times as much space and can store up to 10 million items. See the Close-Up section of this newsletter to view a video of the new facility.
Shipwire in Europe
The team has been working hard to expand our European operations, recently creating a European instance of our Shipwire Platform – integrated with Gofos – to allow us to print multi-language packing slips. Our first customer on the new instance is currently in beta, and our momentum is building!
Shipwire Reports Record Numbers
CFS ended Q2 with some record-breaking Shipwire numbers:
- 2,800 sessions per day on the Shipwire Platform
- 1 million orders shipped through Cart connections
- 665 active Shipwire Anywhere locations
This has been a great first half for our Commerce and Fulfillment Solutions organization and as we join forces with the Lifecycle Services business unit, we look forward to benefiting from revenue, customer and vendor synergies and finishing the year off strong!
